2026 TPVL Rookie Draft Registration Regulations
01 Joining the League:
If a player does not meet the free agent qualifications stipulated by this League but wishes to join a club belonging to this League, they must participate in the Rookie Draft held by the League and be selected by a club belonging to this League in order to obtain the right to negotiate a contract with the club.
02 Draft Player Qualifications:
Age: Must be at least 22 years old by September 30 of the current year.
Experience: In addition to meeting the League's age requirement, a player must meet one of the following qualifications to participate in the Rookie Draft:
(1) Domestic players who have been registered in the Taiwan High School Volleyball League Division I, University Volleyball League Open Division I, or Enterprise Volleyball League, or foreign student players who have been registered continuously for more than three years in the aforementioned leagues.
(2) Players who have represented their schools in any division of the University Volleyball League and have attached a recommendation letter from their team's coach.
(3) Recommended by a club belonging to the Taiwan Professional Volleyball League (TPVL); requires a recommendation letter from the executive coach or general manager of the affiliated club.
Currently Not Under Contract with a Club: Players who have signed a player contract with domestic or foreign clubs and their affiliated enterprises, and are still within the contract period, may not register for the League's Rookie Draft. Violators shall bear the relevant legal responsibilities.
03 Registration Method:
Those who wish to register for the "2026 TPVL Rookie Draft" should download the dedicated draft registration form, fill it out accurately, attach the relevant supporting documents, and email them to info@tpvl.tw. The subject of the email should be [2026_TPVL Draft Registration_(Registrant's Name)]. Registration acceptance will be replied to within one working day. Those who do not meet the qualifications will not be accepted.
04 Registration Period: From May 1 until May 15 at 17:00
05 Draft Order:
The draft order is determined by the regular-season standings of the previous season. The last-place team gets the first pick, the second-to-last team gets the second pick, and so on.
06 Draft Process:
(1) Each club selects players in the draft order or waives its draft pick. Selected players may not be selected again by other clubs. When all clubs have completed their selections or waived their picks, the next draft round begins. The Rookie Draft for that year concludes when there are no more players to select or all clubs have waived their picks.
(2) The draft order for each round is the same as the previous round. Any club that waives its draft pick may not select players again, ending their draft eligibility.
(3) The draft order for newly joined clubs shall be added in the second round after all clubs have completed their selections in the first round, selecting players with the first pick. If there are two or more newly joined clubs in the same year, the order will be determined by drawing lots, and they will swap order after the completion of the subsequent round.
07 Rights and Obligations of Draft Clubs and Players:
(1) After the Rookie Draft, the club obtains the contract negotiation rights for the selected players. Both parties must complete the signing of the player contract within two weeks after the end of the Rookie Draft and submit it to the League for record.
(2) If a player fails to sign a contract with the selecting club after being drafted, or terminates the contract without cause after signing, the player may not participate in the Rookie Draft again the following year.
(3) If a club fails to complete a contract signing with a selected player, it must submit relevant explanatory documents to the League detailing the reasons for not signing. Upon review and approval by the Competition Decision Committee, the player will lose the priority signing rights of the original club, obtain free agent status, and may directly negotiate and complete a signing with other clubs.
08 Rookie Player Contract:
Duration: For any player admitted through the draft system, the club must sign a two-year contract with them, which may include an additional one-year option for a "2+1 year" contract.
Salary: Those selected with the first pick in the first round shall not receive less than NT$60,000, those selected with the second pick shall not receive less than NT$55,000, those selected with the third pick shall not receive less than NT$50,000, and the rest of the players selected in the Rookie Draft shall not receive less than NT$40,000.
※ The League reserves the right of final modification, alteration, interpretation, and cancellation. If there are any relevant changes, they will be announced on the official website of the League without further notice.
