2026.5.20 League Announcement
Thank you all for your full support of the Taiwan Professional Volleyball League (TPVL) this season. As the inaugural season is about to enter the playoffs, the league has communicated and coordinated with the FIVB so that the season can proceed smoothly. However, as a member of the international volleyball family, the TPVL must strictly abide by international tournament regulations and scheduling.
According to FIVB regulations, all players called up by their national teams worldwide must report to their respective national teams on May 17 to prepare for the upcoming international tournaments.
This means that national team members currently playing for TPVL clubs (including the Chinese Taipei men's national team players and foreign players with national team status) will temporarily leave the league after May 17 to join their respective national teams.
The league extends its deepest apologies to all eagerly awaiting fans for this change in the main rosters.
During this inaugural season, the league has faced many challenges in venue coordination and schedule synchronization. There is still much to learn and improve in our overall schedule planning. We failed to effectively separate the league schedule from the international tournament periods, resulting in many fans being unable to see their favorite stars compete in the playoffs and finals. We deeply understand this disappointment and take full responsibility for it.
The league will certainly learn from this experience, using it as an important benchmark for future season scheduling to do our utmost to prevent similar situations from happening again.
"Representing the country" is not only the highest honor every player pursues in their lifetime, but also the key to Taiwan volleyball stepping onto the world stage. The TPVL and all clubs fully support players in fulfilling their national team duties and will serve as their strongest backing.
The TPVL promises that even with roster adjustments, every team will overcome all obstacles for the glory of the first Taiwan professional volleyball championship, demonstrating the fighting spirit of "never let the ball touch the ground, never give up."
We sincerely invite all fans, in the coming days, to join us in sending the warmest applause and blessings to our national players who are about to compete in the international arena. We also ask everyone to continue coming to the games or tuning in to the broadcasts, cheering for every player fighting in the TPVL playoffs.
Your support is the greatest driving force pushing Taiwan volleyball forward.
Thank you for your understanding and consideration. Let us look forward together to an exciting playoffs and the national team's outstanding performance in the international arena.
